Kent Union Welcome

Celebrating the best of what university has to offer, our Welcome Week footage captures the first few weeks of the new academic year.

From arriving on campus, to freshers fairs and the huge variety of daytime and nighttime events, let us create content that you can use to promote your campus, services and outlets to both current, new and prospective students.

When working on branding for Kent Union’s Welcome campaign, we talked closely with them about how they wanted students to feel arriving on campus and what key messages they needed to communicate about their organisation. We also discussed research that shows how young people are suffering with feelings of loneliness. We knew that the new branding needed to feel accessible to all students, giving them a ‘soft introduction’ into university life without feelings of pressure.

We developed bright and lively imagery that was customised to specifically reflect the Canterbury and Medway campuses, rooting the brand geographically and creating a sense of place and belonging. Animating some of the graphics added an element of playfulness. Branding was incorporated throughout all communications channels from A-Level results day, all the way through Welcome.

We collaborated with the Luminary team to offer support in brand creation, social media strategy, and photo/video production, resulting in our most successful welcome event to date with outstanding engagement.

The brand that was developed is vibrant and adaptable, effectively encompassing both commercial and non-commercial activities and appealing to diverse audiences. We have proudly utilised this branding for several years as we believe it strongly reflects our activities.
